Trimming your ends to make your hair grow is a myth. The reason it might look like it is it's because you are cutting dead uneven broken ends that dont allow your hair to appear smooth and healthy. Your hair grows from your scalp so you should concentrate on hair products that go on your head, concentrating on your roots.

Hair grows about 1/2 a month. Cutting it does not change the growth rate.

when ever the ends start to look ragedy, trimming the ends is really for neatness, your hair is gonna grow regardless, it's what you do to the scalp that determines your growth, you have to manipulate your scalp, by brushing it for about 1-2 mins before bed, so that the blood gets to flowing properly and do deep conditioner about every other week if you have chemicals in your hair, if you do have chemicals(relaxer, perm wave..) and you haven't been getting deep conditioner, do the deep conditioner 1 time a wk, then got to everyother week, you will see results.

Trimming your edges often will not make ur hair grow.

Trim your edges about once every month....maybe not even that...if u don't perm your hair, or use weave AT ALL then you can probably go once every 2 months. African American/Black people hair is a different texture and takes a different heal and repiar system then ANY OTHER hair in the world...but yet so many African Americans mess their hair up in so many ways...thats why so many African American women have short hair. It's a myth that your hair will grow faster if you cut it; you might just notice the growth more.

I haven't cut my hair in years, and it's over 3 feet long!
