my cat goes crazy when i get home from work...he rubs all over me , meows like crazy, follows me from room to room everywhere i go. but what realy confuses me is that everyday i come home from work and shower and when i get out my cat goes nuts...he waits outside the shower, wont let me walk by him without franticly rubbing up against me, licking my ffet and legs, sometimes biteing softly. is it because of a scent change ?..soap?..or is he just nuts?

When you get out of the shower, he is trying to help dry you off. Did you ever see a cat groom itself when it is wet? Same thing. Also, when you get out of the shower, you don't have his smell on you anymore. He has to get you smelling like his person all over again. LOL

Your cat loves you and wants your attention....it may be just slightly nuts, but thats out of LOVE for you. Make sure you are taking some time to pet the cat & play with it if it wants to. Are you gone more than before? Also, the whole out of the shower thing, again its love, your cat is trying to groom you, you are a part of his/her family (if its a she, is she fixed because if not she might be in heat..esp if this behavior is recent).

It pretty much sounds like your cat is looking for attention. It's not crazy.. all animals have attention deficit disorder....they never get enough attention!

He loves you and is letting you know he's happy you're home. As for the shower thing... some cats are pecular about certain scents. I used to have a cat who loved to chew on the hair of anyone who had shampooed with Nutragena. And I do mean anyone. She surprised the hell out of any number of visitors, lol! We have one cat that gets excited over my g/f's strawberry-scented shampoo, another that likes the fresh clean scent of Ivory soap, and another that loves the smell of g/f's BO and will gleefully stick her head into the sleeves of her discarded work shirts. Just be happy your cat is not peeing in your shoes ;-)

It sounds like he's a bit nutty. Not all cats do this, and I can't say that many do. I haven't had that many cats. But it sounds a bit obsessive to me. I don't know what to say to fix it, except perhaps check the web and see if there are sites which can give you medical advice on cat behavior. It could also be some medical condition??
Good luck!

Sounds to me like the cat misses you. Do you play with him when you have some time? Is he inside all day? Does he have some toys? Maybe you should get him a friend to keep him company when you are not there.

None of the above. He just missed you. My cats have each other for company while we are gone, but if your cat is an only child, then he gets lonely while he is by himself. Maybe he needs a playmate. Just give him a lot of love while you are home. They are very loving.

I used to have a cat that would do that..I couldn't stand it licking my feet. But I think they love us so much that their way of showing it is by trying to clean us..kinda like they do to themselves or their kittens. I've even seen cats do it to other animals..like dogs. They just wanna love and make sure that you know they love you. The cats not crazy..It loves you!

he just loves you. when the kitty rubs up against you, he is rubbing his scent on your from special glands.. he's marking you as "his" you should be happy... he's showing you how much you mean to him.

now, the licking you after the shower.. for some reason, maybe there is a smell or taste you like. i wouldn't worry about it.. he's not nuts. just enjoys something about it.

my kitty is very affectionate.. and when he is stressed, he also nibbles on my chin.. not hard.. just like hanging onto me for comfort.

You DEFINITELY need ANOTHER cat! That poor thing is sooooo lonely while you are gone that it does go nuts when you finally get home!
If you want your cat to calm down, get him a playmate.

hahahahaha!!!!! i love animals and all pets get like that like cats or dogs.i have a dog and everytime i come home he gets all crazy wags his tail so fast he hits me with it.so no your cat is not retarded,it just likes you,its like says that he is happy you are with him or her.but sometimes maybe he or her gets like that if you don't play with it or be with it very much.or you can also get a other cat the same sex if you just want it to have cumpony.well this is what i think.now take care of your cat.

Has nothing to do with any of that. He misses you while you're at work and he's trying to get your attention. Sounds like a very affectionate cat, enjoy it!
