My question is, Do you think Families need a home phone anymore? Aren't cell phones enough? This would save me $75.00 a month.

I have VoIP...for only 19.99 a month...and love it! I never go back to Bell or ATT...they cost to much....I get better features with my provider...I need something at home...for the rest of the family...if it only for me...a cell phone would do! I have several family member with only cell phone service, but there all single!

I think families need land lines for emergencies, at the very least. You could reduce your phone service to just the dial tone so you can still receive calls, but can make 911 calls if needed.

Living in a (argh) rural area, I only have a land line for my crappy dial-up connection. If I had access to cable, I would no longer have a land line.
