After some time I've come to totally see how true it is that thinking of myself as above *anybody* & thinking of myself 1st is always detrimental...and definitely a barrier to God, such as the things Maurice H listed^
empathy/sympathy
mercy/forgiveness
compassion
selflessness
generosity of heart
Losing pride helps us to see how connected we are to others, how we are essentially the same, w/ the same tendencies & fears & hopes...to let go of one's ego is to open up oneself to greater humanity. :)

As it states, God so Loved the World he gave his only begotten Son to save us. He does forgive us before we commit our sins! We as his children, should be kind to each other, if for no other reason then to make our creator, our God happy. We take everything for granite, just get cancer or aids then tell me how good we've been to him & ourselfs. If more people cared about each other we would not have such a sad country. To me the worst thing we could do is to harm our children, meaning anyones children. They are so innocent until some crazy person harms them. Why would anyone want to hurt a child, the innocents of there youth the smiles they give to us. I love our children (the worlds). We also take advantage of our elderly, we should want them to be by our side, if for no other reason, then to learn from them, they have so much to give. The knowledge they have that we could use with out breaking a sweat.

because you, as paul says, boast in yourself instead of christ
to boast is to brag of your deeds,,,what deeds has christian done that are greater than christ.
Ephesians 2:8-10
8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9Not of works, lest any man should boast.
10For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
