I really hate this, you know? I mean, I don't go out of my way to personally attack someone, and this schmuck insulted all of us for no reason. Then again, he is a "holier than thou", so I suppose being a good girl, I should try to be more understanding.

Oh, to "hell" with him! Everything he accused us of, he did himself! What a jerk!

I'd say the first is a little close minded. It's arrogant and rude if used around someone is that situation.

The second only means that your focusing to much on the details to see the big picture (which you may be looking for). Completely innocent, and maybe innovative, alone. It really depends on the context it's used in.

The third phrase is kinda derogatory and should never be used in a religious conversation. What it could really be saying is that someone has to be neutral and free of prejudice, at least of that kind.

The fourth is incredibly rude, arrogant and, well, sad. It was probably said by someone who wasn't thinking about the long term repercussions and just wanted to get someone out of their face.

In the case of the person who said this, it looks like they weren't ready to accept other differences and instead of learning to do that they tried to change other people. Sadly, it's an arrogant way of looking at it.

Please note that these are my opinions on the phrases alone and not the person or his point. It's not really good form to ask questions like this about another person.

Yes, most of those are arrogant. And though, it may come across as arrogant, sometimes the "you can't see the forest for the trees" is true. But the others aren't only just arrogant, but show a great lack of compassion. Nothing to learn from people like that except how NOT to act.

I think he was more frustrated than anything else.

1.We all should be polite, but sometimes it's hard. Generally it's atheists making the rude comments to christians, though occasionally it's the other way around.

2.To a christians, it does seem as though atheists are blinded by too much evidence, as it's everywhere.

3.You're probably glad that you're the atheist too.

4.Whatever greatness you may accomplish, this life is a vapor in the hot sun compared to eternity, so atheism = hopelessness.

I would classify them as "frustration" rather than arrogance.
