pugs are wonderful companions. I had one who rarely barked-but he did snore. Had another one who did not bark, but he 'talked' to me lots. And actually pugs are one of the few dogs that are actually 'made' to be lap dogs.
They do have a few health problems you may want to read about before you get one.

Are Pugs Noisy

all dogs bark. I have a pug and a lab and my parents had a pug and a lab . Both of them bark like crazy when people come by. But pugs i really dont think they are noisy they can snort and stuff sometimes but its not constantly like most people think it is. Pugs need lots of love and attention. They have very funny personalities and I love pugs when im retired i plan on breeding. They are defiently friendly. I would say all dogs are equally noisy but hound dogs they are the worst. Research what breed fits you best. My first pug maggie is very whinin and need constant love and attention and wants to sit in my lab all day long. My puppy lola lays on the back of the couch and ignores me. So good luck they are all unique

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE pugs..

If you get your pug very young the odds of them barking are very small. Because barking is a learned behavior that is picked up from being around other dogs that bark. If you get her early and just love her and play with her she will usually not bark.

.I have the most beautiful furbaby pug named Bella..She is an angel, she never barks but does snore when in a deep sleep and snorts at you when shes excited, she is the most loving lap dog. She kisses and snuggles and she even hugs you its the cutest thing.. Shes amazing with children and she doesnt chew anything that doesnt belong to her besides Socks lol....she is my 3rd pug and i would never have another dog in my life. they give so much love and are amazing companions..

I enclosed a link to my webpage so you can see my bella boo

Hope you get a new furbaby pug soon you will love her forever!!!!

you can say one breed barks more then a different breed.. it is about the indevidual dog. you can train them to be quite... it is your job. a pug is a small dog and if given the right amout of attition can be a great friendly dog. other then barking pugs also make a lot of noise just by breathing. no dont get me wrong it is not loud but it is kinda bothersome to some people.

Small dogs are easily excited most of the time, but Pugs aren't yappers.

On a different but related topic, they do get breathing problems and catch colds very easily and are stressed by hot and cold weather. They're also prone to allergies.

Not in my (admittedly limited, I've known 4) experience. Nice lap dogs.
