It's just one tooth that hurts (my left eye tooth). It hurts in the same way that all my teeth hurt when my braces were adjusted when I was a kid. I don't think my bite has changed in the last two days (which is how long I've had the pain). Why could this be happening?

If it still hurts on Thursday or Friday, I'll make a dentist appointment, but I'd like to know what's going on if anyone has any ideas.

Sounds like your tooth is sensitive to touch. It could be acute periradicular periodontitis. In other words you could have an abscess. Best thing would be to see your dentist so he can diagnos the problem.

Maybe a cavity that's gotten deeper...OR it's possible it has a small fracture. (I just had an old fracture that worsened and caused it to hurt.) Or you could have done something else entirely that's upset it. At long as it isn't bad, I'd just wait to see if it goes away.

This usually stops after the first few tightenings. The pain will stop soon. give it one or two more and you shouldn't have to feel it anymore! :)

It could be a nerve problem. See your dentist immediately. He may refer you to an endodontist.
