Is it true that most Hispanic people and also people of other cultures think that white women are more "promiscuous?" I have heard this before and was just curious. I am white and I plan on saving myself for marriage. I had a hispanic friend that only speaks Spanish ask me if I had a boyfriend and how many boyfriends I had had before. I am 19 and I said I currently don't have one and I have had 2 relationships before. He smiled and I go "mal?" or is that bad? and he said "ohh noo" and he said "tu eres mas bonita y no tienes novio..." Do you think he was implying anything and do they find it strange or odd that I have only been in two relationships and I am not "promiscuous"?

If anything it's a stereotype, traditional hispanic families are very conservative and many view American culture as more liberal and permissive. It is really ignorance on the part of many hispanics/latinos who generalize and stereotype their white counterparts much like their white counterparts may stereotype them. As for your friend I think he might have been meaning to tell you that he was surprised that you were single because you are pretty, he might have been trying to complement you.

I have heard that alot of other cultures think that we (as Americans, not just white Americans) are promiscuous. They get that information from movies such as Pretty Woman and Dirty Dancing. Alot of what other countries learn about us is based on the popular movies that they see.

noo it just sounds like he was surprised that you hadn't had a lot of boyfriends before because he thought you were pretty.

I dont think it has anything to do with being "promiscuous". but if you're really that curious, you could ask him

The guy was just feeling you out that's all. I think it is equal in all races with promiscuous.
