Here are some of the symptoms I've been having:

•hazy/ dim vision, especially in well lit areas. I sometimes see "blotches" (the kind you see when you look at light for a long time, and then look away).
•I'm always tired, even though I sleep 6.5-8 hours each night
•I have oversensitivity and sometimes mood swings
•I laugh at almost everything, even if it isn't funny. Not even happy laughing, just laughing.
•I often hallucinate that i am hearing my name called, and then i turn around and no one is there.
•I sometimes have obsessive behavior; i feel the need to check several times to make sure my alarm is set to the right time, etc
•weak sense of smell
•i have trouble falling asleep (it takes me at least 45 minutes, usually more than an hour)
•I have almost no appetite (i eat anyway, but still not as much)
•it is hard for me to focus, my mind wanders
•I feel kind of "detached" from my surroundings sometimes

I have b6 deficiency, am usually dehydrated & had a kidney infection once, if that has anything to do with these problems. I appreciate any help or information you could give me, if you have any suggestions for changes i should make to get better. Links would be helpful, too. Thanks!

The b6 deficiancy, and dehydration would explain most of the physical symptoms.
Find a B complex (it has EVERY friggen kind of B vitamin imaginable), and take it DAILY.
DRINK DRINK DRINK!!!!!
And at LEAST 75=80% of your liquid intake MUST BE WATER!
(that's why you had the kidney infection you mentioned)

Also, dehydration has been VERY known to cause focus problems (been there, done that), appetite problems, and can mess with your head ( hallucinations)

Tips in addition to those above:
NO caffiene, if you can help it, but if you just HAVE to, only one coffee and one can of pop per day. And if you have those, don't eat/drink as much sugar as normal.

Try to exercise well. Even if it's just a little walk in the morning, it will fight off that tiredness, and is wonderfull for your concentration.
It tells your body, ok, we're officially awake, whether YOU like it or not.

Watch your diet. And I don't mean lose weight, just make sure you're eating healthy foods.
Get all your daily allowances (google the food pyramid.) and drink A LOT!

The laughing and OCD-like behaviors may just be a "nervose tick" of sorts. Your body senses something's wrong (too much stress, either mental or physical. That includes dehydration, not getting enough sleep, anything really.), tenses up, and looks for a way to let that tension go.

BTW, you really should be getting AT LEAST 8 hours of sleep, if at all possible.

If all this stuff doesn't work, check with your doctor. Ask for somthing to help you get better quality sleep.
It's better to get 7 hours of good sleep, than 10 hours of crappy sleep.
(do some research on the sleep cycle, that'll help a bit)

If you're still having all these problems, ask your doctor about a condition called Chronic Fatigue Immune Deficiancy Syndrome (CFIDS).
It can cause a LOT of crap to go haywire!

Good luck with all the problems!!

You have practically diagnosed yourself: dehydration and vitamin deficiency. Vitamin B6 is important for making serotonin, which is a very important neurotransmitter. Without that, it is no great surprise that you are getting odd neurological symptoms. Vitamin B6 deficiency is so rare that most doctors don't know what it does anymore. How much alcohol do you drink in a day? Excessive intake can interfere with your body's absorption of this nutrient. The only other way you could get this in modern America is an improbably poor diet or as a side-effect of birth control pills...

You are probably also dehydrated, which explains some of the other neurological symptoms and the kidney infections.

Take a multivitamin and eight glasses of water a day religiously, although a banana smoothie would be almost as good. A trip to the doctor to confirm my diagnosis wouldn't hurt either. Some of your symptoms sound vaguely like the beginnings of schizophrenia, which is a little beyond the curative powers of water and multivitamins... although its rare and most schizophrenics don't realize whats wrong with them so you probably don't have it. Check anyway.

dehydration can and will cause many of these symptoms, you should be drinking a lot of water, try about 8 glasses a day, see if that helps, I would also make a doctors appt, and take this list with you.
