This is a rhetoric question. I just hope that some people will see this and stop spelling God with a little "g".

I'm not talking about gods like all of the Hindu gods. I am specifically refering to big "G" God. Show respect, even if you do not follow the religion, and you just might get a little more respect in return.

This is not an evangelical question. Stop treating it like one.

Rhetorical, not rhetoric. And unless you're the spelling police, I'm gonna keep spelling god with a little g. I mean, your god, what right do you have to tell me how to spell god? I really hate it when you people do this, like demanding respect for your god. I don't believe in god, and I never will bellieve in god, and you can't make me believe in god. Honestly. Some people have a lot of goddarn nerve. Why even ask this? How would your god feel if he knew you were telling people how to spell god like we're all a bunch of goddarn kids? god.

God should be used with a capital G only in the event that it is a proper name. If you're saying "god" as in "the creator" than it's more of a descriptive title rather than a proper noun, and therefore does not require a capital G.

Afterthought: religions that have a name for God other than God (for instance, "Allah") don't necessarily need a capital G, as god is a description of Allah or the like.

God is a title... it's not a name... Zeus is called God. You making the distinction doesn't make it distinct. And if we really want to get technical, the original lang's of the Bible didn't have Capital letters... they were all one size... so there was No distinction until the English lang came along. Now if you wish to make the distinction only for your God, you are more than welcome to. But I will spell it anyway I want to. *smile*

I like to use the little "g". It's an indication of my lack of respect for the office.

I spell "god" with a lower case g,and that my prerogative. It means nothing to me,and the choice is mine so i will continue to do so.

I spell it with a lowercase "g" because "god" is not a name or even a title, it's a label.
