There is a gift pack of coffee liqueurs by Godiva for fifteen dollars at the liquor store, they are in a fabulous assortment which include a white chocolate liqueur that I tried for the first time today while I was out buying Christmas gifts. They are all packed together 4 or 5 per box and they come in very attractive little bottles. Also Sumac Ridge puts out a great ice wine that can be purchased in smaller bottles that are under $15. Ice wines are very sweet and great served for desert, if you like something a little less sweet there are many great late harvest wines that are not only less sweet but also less expensive then ice wines, try checking the BC area of your local liquor store.

Christmas Ale

Make some Glogg and put it in old wine bottles

2.25 cups port wine
2.25 cups red wine
1 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1 stick cinnamon
1 small piece of fresh ginger
6 cloves
6 whole cardamom pods

Combine port wine, red wine, water and sugar in a pan over low heat. Tie the spices into a piece of cheesecloth and hit it with a mallet until bruised. Put spice bag and orange into the wine mixture and simmer just below the boiling point for 15 minutes. Remove the spices and pour brandy into the hot mixture.

Tie a ribbon around the neck of the bottle with instructions to Light very carefully and flame or stick a hot clean poker into the Glogg from the wood fireplace.

Sangiovese is a medium bodied dry wine with earthy aromas and berry, plum, spicy, or floral flavors. It has a smooth texture. Sangiovese is the main grape used to produce Italian Chiantis. Sangiovese goes especially well with pasta and other Italian foods. The first wine listed sells for just $10 a bottle and the second for $14.

Di Majo Norante 2004 Sangiovese - Red Wine
Falesco 2005 Vitiano Sangiovese - Red Wine

A special dessert wine that would make a great Christmas gift is
Bonny Doon NV Framboise Infusion of Raspberries (half-bottle) This is a delightful sweet wine in a half-size bottle (typical for dessert wines to be this size). It’s been awarded 90 points from Wine Spectator and 92 from Wine Enthusiast. Enjoy the captivating raspberry aroma and flavor…this wine is a dessert by itself! ($12.99)

Cheers!

I recomend a Port Wine. Its a great desert wine and most people don't know to try it. There are a lot of decent wines for around $15

One of my favorite everyday wines is Ruffino Chianti. It sells for about $8 a bottle and is a very good wine for that price.
