It is not going to "dissolve" in his body. You must take him in for an x-ray to see where it is. Maybe he didn't swallow it at all and you MUST check to see.

My goofy siamese ate a shoelace once and I was told that is the reason the little plastic things are on there; to help it go through the cat. It was like flossing the cat.
Really though keep an eye on the kitty, because it could cause problems if it doesn't come out.

Are you sure the cat didn't hide the shoelace. Even if the material was digested fully the plastic ends should come out recognizeable. You might want to take it to the vet for a check.

If you are 100% positive he actually ate the shoelace, he needs to be seen by the vet ASAP. Shoelaces do NOT dissolve inside cats!!!!!! It could have gotten wrapped up around his bowel system or impacted within the colon and needs to be removed before it starts an infection. I would get him in tonight if possible! Good luck!!

you may desire to study with your vet lower back - if comparable respond then that's fairly useful to look for yet another opinion. if your cat is exhibiting any indicators of being painful in the tummy, straining whilst attempting to have a bowel circulation, no longer eating, torpid and maximum necessary - vomiting then she desires to work out the vet as quickly as obtainable. An obstruction is a probability and the longer you wait the extra severe the obtainable effect would be.

Sooner or later it will come out. But be prepared and have a plastic glove on hand. You might see it hanging out of his bu-- .
Our hound dog, swallowed an entire pair of pany hose. Boy was that a sight for sore eyes . The panty hose dragged along the ground and 1/2 of the hose was still inside of him. I had to pull the rest out. Ugh !!

Take your cat to the vet, it could be caught in it's intestines. It;s beenn a week I'm surpried it's not showing some symtoms of discomfort. I'd have your cat looked at just in case.

It could get twisted up in his intestines and cause trouble, even kill him. Take him to the vet for an x-ray to see where it is.

Well you shouldnt worry because it might have disolved already in the body, but if your cat starts to act funny take it to the vet.
