Siervocal I almost always agree with your answers. You are clear minded and speak the truth. You are who you need to be for whatever reason, the great thing about this country is that we are allowed to have our opinions and we are allowed to disagree with one another. Sometimes around here I feel so much hatred I need to take a break in another category. I applaud you and hope you continue to speak up!!

The way people behave are the way people are treated. You as an American have the right to defer from the rest of the world but when you do it you have to do it with out attacking or offending and in return you will be treated the same way. I'm a Hispanic just like you and I'm against illegal immigration because is illegal and because is have turned into an invasion from the South and is hurting our way of life like education, health care, housing, wages, etc. Because of all of these and because is an invasion I'm against it. My country is the USA and I will defend it from any body domestic or foreign. You don't have to be extremist to be anti illegal, just right that's all. remember illegal is illegal, period. You just be a proud American and defer from every body respectfully is your right.

You say you are a "legal immigrant" living in the US. If that is so, then you have nothing to defend, politically, for yourself being in the USA because you are here LEGALLY. Also, as a legal immigrant, you have the right to your own opinions and free speech in the USA. If you are legal, as you say, you are working above-board and paying your fair share of taxes and thus you are a bonafide contributing member of the US economy and society. Bravo to you! However, I find you to be a "fence sitter" regarding your stance on illegal immigration. You are too weak to take a definite stance. As a legal immigrant, I think you should be grossly offended by illegal immigrants. You paid the fees and stood in line and waited your turn to come to the USA legally. Why aren't you offended that other people think they should NOT have to pay those fees and stand in line and should, in effect, be able to have preferable status to those who do?
Personally, I disagree with you - I do NOT think that ANYONE who came to the USA illegally should become legalized, ever. This would only perpetuate the belief to future illegal immigrants that if they come on in illegally now, they will eventually be rewarded with legal citizenship and this will tell them that they are stupid to apply to come in legally.
I will only agree with you that we need to increase our immigration security and improve our immigration system, but NEVER EVER AGAIN give amnesty to illegal immigrants in the USA!
My feelings are that ALL ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS IN THE USA SHOULD BE DEPORTED AS THEY ARE FOUND AND LOCATED AND THEY SHOULD BE PLACED TO THE VERY BACK OF THE LINE OF EVER RETURNING TO THE USA LEGALLY AND IF THEY TURN AROUND AND RETURN AGAIN ILLEGALLY, THEN THEY SHOULD DO SOME MAJOR LONG AND HARD TIME IN THE US PENITENTIARY SYSTEM BEFORE AGAIN BEING DEPORTED. This applies to that idiotic Areallano woman who is holed up in a Church in Chicago, as well!

I wouldn't look at you as a "beaner."
I find that term highly offensive.
I don't agree that anyone should have amnesty. But I only have a problem with people who are breaking the law to come into the U.S. and with the people who aid, abet and hire them.
They don't all come from Mexico.
There is a tremendous influx of Chinese illegals who pay for passage on cargo ships, then jump into New York Harbor at night and swim to shore. They are just as illegal and the people who help them are criminals too.
And yes a different idealogy can mess up how people think of you. I run into it all the time.

A different viewpoint doesn't make you a bad person, or a criminal. The greatness of U.S society is all it's different viewpoints, working together to form the great country we have now. If you were telling people how to hop the border and supplying fradulent Id's-that would be quite another story. It might also help your social plight if you banded together with your other like minds- and vowed to promote harmony between races and stop all the insults and generalizations that go on in both sides.

There is no free ride every one form the Pilgrims to you now have to go through the same channels, there is no such thing as amnesty, we have no idea who you are or what your past is, the fact that most immigrants do not pay taxes is what gets most Americans spun up, and the money that is made here is sent to to there home country's and not back into society, that is the real issue. I do believe that every one should be treated as an equal and that mean every thing from laws, to taxes, to citizenship the rules apply to every one or no one. You sound like a great guy and I hope that everything works out for you, but there are rules and there, there to protect you and me so lets try to fallow them. Good friend and best wishes.

Just because you believe in amnesty, doesn't make you a criminal, it just makes you wrong. You're not acting in America's best interest, you're acting in illegal alien's best interest. You want illegal's to be rewarded for breaking an American law. If you help anyone to do so, then you will be a criminal, by aiding and abetting said illegal alien. Do you believe that American's have a right to make laws? If you don't, then you must think anybody, mexican or not can do whatever they please, and not be prosecuted for it. Is murder, rape, and kidnapping okay with you, as long as an illegal does it? That's about how much sense you make. America has a right to protect itself, and WE WILL!

I agree with you and believe me I'm an American citizen because the USA invaded my country (P.R). In Spain, for example, the immigration from the ex-colonies of South America is a common practice that benefits the 2 countries. Immigration is one of the reasons for the raise of the economical power and the way of living of today's Spain.
Amnesty, for a legal staying to work, is a true possibility in the states. I believe the true reason for the anti-illegal immigration is a racial one. Or not?
Don't worry free thinking doesn't make you a criminal, at least for the moment.

Try not to take it personally. The minority view always ends up getting kicked around a bit...-But if you hold on to it long enough (& your reasoning is sound), sooner or later most people will end up seeing things your way. Want an example? -After 9/11 our fearless Leader could do no wrong. Today- people are counting the days until he leaves Office. Did He change? No. We the people (most of whom don't have a CLUE), finally woke up. Stand by your Opinions...-because at their very WORST, they're just as good as everyone elses. :)

While it is awful that you're being treated like dirt because your stance is in the middle, I say that you keep on voicing your point of view. People who talk down to you because of your opinion, well in my case, make me want to voice my point of view even more. It's empowering and you should be proud that you don't think like those people. I know I'm proud that I have an opinion that isn't the majority opinion. It doesn't make you a criminal at all, it means you're not ignorant like some of those who treated you badly because of your stance on an issue that's perceived as either being on one side or the other. Many people fail to recognize that every issue has its gray area, whether they like it or not.

You are a legal resident of the United States. You are entitled to be here, and you are entitled to your opinions, and thinking is not illegal. If you take any action to help illegal immigrants, that would be illegal. Simply haivng a particular ideology certainly isn't.
