I personally think that all of this nonsense about Potter being evil or Satanic is simply the product of overactive imaginations and of those who have never read the books. I think the books (and everything else Potter) encourage not only encourage children to read, but to also use their imaginations. Don't we all love a fantasy world every now and then?

I think these books are fantastic for kids-they encourage imagination and get kids interested in reading. What could be better than that? My brothers, friends and I all read the Hobbit and Lord of the RIngs trilogy as kids and, as far as I know, none of us worship the devil or perform satanic rituals.

The authoress of Harry Potter is a witch... I think that the books are very much satanic from what I've heard of them! They might encourage children to read... but they encourage children to read BAD books. They might be good for getting the imagination going... but what kind of TERRIBLE things will they be thinking after reading those books? Harry Potter is not a good thing!

The people who say Harry Potter is Satanic are also the people who think FANTASY WORLDs are satanic. Ipso Facto, you and they agree on what Harry Potter is, but not on what a fantasy world is.

Incidentally, it can be argued that the entire premise for Harry Potter was done about 10 to 15 years earlier in the resque text adventure game series Spellcasting 101 (not to be confused with Sorcerer 101, a webcomic whose new tagline is "totally not a Harry Potter ripoff")

I do believe the moral of Harry Potter is right down to good verses evil.. and good always wins!!! It also deals with the inner person we all deal with.. the right from the wrong decisions we make in our life... i guess i should not leave out all the frustrations we deal with when people expect us to be perfect at what ever we do... and when we screw up they are there always making more of that then the good.. But we get over it...

I think mostly why some people think it is satanic is cuz magic is used in it.. and well that is believed to be bad.. i think it just makes the movie more interesting to kids to watch and lean the morals behind the movie...

i don't think anyone believes it to be "satanic". It is however "Pagan" which means "one who worships someone/thing other than the God of Abraham"....as in nature worship, casting spells and such things. In the Harry Potter books, it's just fantasy and all in good fun, but in the real world, messing with spells only invites demons into your life...i know from when i was a teenager and was fascinated with magic and spells, it only brought me trouble. When I see things like qija boards in toy stores it just gives me chills and I can't believe they would actually sell these things to children. I will never mess with that stuff again! So I can understand why some people get nervous when it comes to books like Harry Potter. It's one of those things you wouldn't understand unless you've had a bad experience with the supernatural.

I think it is rather ironic that Harry Potter is on my TV right now. I am Christian and my kids are watching it. Big deal. I believe that the reality in which we live is greater than any fantasy ever written. People just need to relax. Be happy. Live and let live and have a little fun. Peace out.

I saw a couple movies of Harry Potter believe it or not. I was impressed with these magicians power to use their magic for good and not evil. Sure, they were pulling a few pranks here and there, but kids will be kids.

Ni, I don't think Harry Potter is satanic.

This is the same as in the 70s when people said that if you heard Kiss' albums backwards you could hear an invocation of the devil.

I agree, the people who think Harry Potter is evil and promotes the Evil Arts have too much engergy against "evil" that they're directing in the wrong place.

I wrote a letter to the editor of my local paper when a school was under pressure of banning the Potter books. When my letter was published a retired school teacher phoned me to tell me "thanks" and to say that back in the 1940s, SHE got in trouble with parents for reading "The Wizard of Oz" to kids. I wonder how many of the anti-Potter christians have the slightest problem letting their kids see this old classic movie.

My Fan Club is so wacky sometimes!
