I have a friend who was Mr. "Big-Shot-Metalhead-guy-Arrgh-Blarrgh-I-love-Satan, etc". Now you can't even stand to be around him because all he talks about is how much better his life is now that he found Jesus. (You know the type. Now he gets right-side-up crosses tattooed on him instead of pentagrams.)
Is it me is this the most pathetic thing ever? I've run into a bunch of these posers. Is it me or are they just constantly looking for attention?
Aren't they just doing the Jesus thing because it's so 'shocking and out of character'? Losers.

To preempt the person who asks 'Well, how do you know they don't honestly feel in touch with the Lord?"
The answer is "BECAUSE THEY ARE FAKE, THAT'S WHY."
And how many 'Born-Again' types do you think are just the same way?

Father K - Althought it's good that this 'friend of yours' is off of heroin, that is just substituting one horrible addiction for another.

Trust me, it's not an act nor is it fake. Once you get a relationship with God, your whole attitude and way of living changes. The Bible says that, "If any man be in me, he is a new creation, old things are passed away behold all things become new." (2 Cor. 5:17) Also, do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is good and acceptable and the perfect will of God,” (Rom. 12:2).” The Bible also ask in Matthew 16:26 For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
It's not act. He will come in and make you clean, your desires, your friends, your habits and your way of thinking will all be brand new. I am sooooooo happy for your friend.

It's difficult for non-Christians to understand. Every Christian has their own story about what led them to Christ. And the thing is, once you are born again and see the love of God you want to share that with people you care about. But just because you become a Christian does not mean you stop being a sinner. So a lot of non-Christians see that as being "fake". If you think your friend is full of it, then take the chance to actually sit down with him and listen. That's what a friend should do for another friend. Believe me, he isn't looking for attention. He just want every one he cares about to know there is life after death, but only if you know Jesus Christ and have Him in your heart. Our time here on earth is just a blink of the eye. And when you die there are two places you go -- one is heaven and the other is hell. There is no in-between.

Who cares? I had a pretty intense conversion experience. But in the long run there is a strong continuity of who I was before and after. My shift had nothing to do with needing attention, as I was halfway across the country going to art school. No one knew me there well enough to care. Art schools are notoriously atheistic, and many thought I made a wrong decision, including my teachers. But that was the extent of it.

Only you can read your heart.
Many sinners suddenly repent and tread the path of saints; they may fall again many times before attaining the saintly death.
Other sinners may never repent; others still may repent and then miserably fall at the end.
Life is an aduous journey and the destination is not known before one's death. All noisy or silent expressions along the journey are mere expressions.

The types of people who usually do this just have addictive personalities. Who knows, in a month or a year they'll be into something totally different.

God is a drug. When Pentecostals clap their hands and sing songs about Jesus in a communal frenzy, thousands of endorphins are released in their brains-which make them high.
Religious devotion is an addiction, just like alcoholism.

I spent about six months holding this gay-prostitute heroin-addict's face out of his own puke in seedy hotel rooms and in alleys off Skid-Row. I watched as he almost over-dosed three times and rushed him to the hospital in my own car.
I had him slap me and swear at me and vomit on my lap and yet I continued to help.
He ended up crying out to God when he was diagnosed with tuberculosis and was near death.
I was there.
I Baptized him with water out of his hospital drinking-pitcher.
He's now been an outstanding Christian for 10 years. Now he wants to be a Priest.
Is that what you mean?

r u wild and crazy yourself. maybe u r the one being fake. maybe deep inside u miss your wild friend.
now that he has found God, u worry about where that leaves u. u just need to respect your friend more. if he is being fake, this phrase of his life won't last forever. he will soon get bored.
