I colored my hair with what i thought was a medium shade of blonde to cover my roots.. but it turned out a terrible grayish shade of light brown. If I get the correct shade of blonde tomorrow, and if i just colored my hair a few hours ago, is tomorrow too soon to dye it again to attempt to fix it?

if you wait a few days the purple should wash out. you bought a ash color, which is why that happened. if not, buy a 28 day color.(a toner) it has no peroxide in it. this will not harm your hair at all!!!! (make sure you put it on only your roots.) this is a deposit color only . this will fix the mess up. you'll need to buy a gold color to x out the purple. look on the box somewhere and it will tell you the "base" color. that is what you need to go by, not what the girl has on the front. if the base is green, purple, or blue, it is considered to be ash. then the next time you need to do your roots with a golden shade.

the same thing kinda happened to me (im a girl) and well i wasnt about to wait. I have very thin and fragile hair, but no it did not fall out like everyone said it would. The only thing that happened was lots of damage. If its urgent for you to dye it again, like a hot date, than do it. If you can wait 2 weeks though, that would be best. You dont want damaged hair, its not a pretty thing to have and it can be very difficult to repair it. Oh if you do you might want to use lots of conditioner and if u blow dry ur hair on a daily basis, when you dont need to do it skip the Blow dryer ( will hurt ur hair even more) and do a messy look, im sure you know what i mean.

Maybe you should go see a hair stylist and have her fix the problem. I messed up a dye job one time and tried to fix it and kept getting bizarre hair colors. I finally went to a hair stylist and she was able to get my hair a decent color while the awful colors grew out. Because I dyed my hair too many times in a short period of time, I ended up with dryed our fried hair. I have never dyed my hair since and that was 25 years ago.

No that should be fine. It may damage your hair a bit, but after using good shampoo and conditioner that is designed for damaged hair, it should be fine again. In terms of health-wise there has always been a debate of whether you should wait a few days between dying your hair.

it depends on what dye or bleach, is under the color u just did. if there is bleach, u need to wait a few. do a few days of deep conditioning. wear a hat. buy some of the so-silver conditioner and it will tame the brassiness.
do it again on monday.

I had the same problem once, it turned out greenish-grey!
I dyed mine back that night. It wasn't damaging, I just used extra conditioner.
Good luck!!

you'll be fine if you do it on your new growth only... i also recommend getting one shade lighter then your desired one because hair that already has color on it makes it harder for new color to take
