I just turned 21 and my Dad's taking me to Vegas. We leave next Wednesday and I have nothing to wear, or so I think. I've never been there but I've searched the internet for photos of the clubs and all the girls seem to be dresses in barely any clothes and the clothes they wear are really nice. When I go out to the bars around the town I live in, a pair of cute jeans with a cute tank is good enough, but I would guess that Vegas is a little more up scale...so, I'm going shopping on Sunday, but I don't know what to get...is what I wear out around my town good enough to wear out at night in Vegas??

My Dad lives in Vegas and we're going to visit him with in the next couple of weeks. He told me that it's getting cool over there so bring jeans and a sweater or light jacket (it's about the high 50s and low 60s) so you don't want to wear anything too "barely-there". As you mentioned, Vegas is a place where nicer clothes make you look nicer and feel nicer. The hotel are very elegant (like Caesar's palace, bellagio, Wynn) so if you wear really nice jeans or slacks, a nice blouse and maybe a blazer or something on top with cute heels, you'll look fabulous! flip-flops and tiny tees from old navy are comfortable, but you might want to steer away from that; your aim should be more "Vogue". Most of the stores are the high-end type (like Chanel, Cartier, Giorgio Armani, Hermes, Prada, Yves St. Laurent, Gucci, etc.) so if you were to walk into one of those places, you don't want to look like you came from the beach, but then you don't want to look like you're wearing every piece of jewelry you own either. (Find a happy medium between dressy casual and Dressy). For night time, a slinky cocktail dress or cute jeans with heels and a "club top" is good. If you go to a show/concert or something some people really come decked out in tuxes and silk gowns, while others opt for daytime denim, an outfit that's nice (like something you would wear to a party) would be sufficient. Again, it's better to be dressed nice than to be under-dressed and not "well put together" or "tidy". Enjoy your birthday!! If you're interested, try going to a boxing match, it's sooo exciting! And all the Cirque De Soleil shows are fabulous!! Have fun!!

In Vegas just about anything goes, but some of the clubs...like Studio 54 for example...actually have dress codes. They don't allow cut-offs, etc. A pair of black slacks (dressy!) and some club-wear tops, sexy shoes, and a little "bling" should be appropriate for most clubs. For everyday, jeans are fine, but BE SURE to bring comfortable shoes for daytime. Vegas is all about walking. If you go to a show, wear your same black slacks with a more modest top and different jewelry. Have fun...it's a great place to visit.

In some of the clubs it is, but some of the upscale clubs do want you to dress very trendy. I would say a nice little black dress would probably be just perfect. Have a grea time.

Depends on where you go. If you go to Pure or Tao, the celebrity hang out places you want to dress nice. If you're going to a normal bar then you get dress down. I think you should always dress up nice. It's always better to be over dressed than under dressed.
