Start with honey or caramel colored high lights. You can alway add more blonde later if you want.

I must agree with most of the other posts. You'll probably be in total shock if you dye your hair totally blonde. It's best to dip your toe in with pretty highlights. You can keep getting more highlights, like Jennifer Aniston did, until the overall effect is more blonde than brown.
Go through a site like BeautyRiot and look at all the celebs whose base haircolor is like yours. Then see what they did for highlights to get an idea of what would appeal to and look pretty on you.
And go to a GOOD colorist. Do NOT do this yourself! If you think you can't afford it, just ask yourself if you can afford to have it done over again after it gets botched.

If you have the complexion to pull off being a blond, why not give it a try. Or what you could do is get blond highlights and if you like the look, keep getting more and more highlights until you achieve the look you are going for. I have medium brown hair and have beautiful champagne colored chunky highlights and I love them. I would not go blond because I don't think I would look good with them.l

don't go blond, the highlights are OK but remember Donna on 70's show when she went blond. It was just too weird, I never got used to it, also that junk damages your hair

I think blond streaks might look better... infact u can use 2 shades to get a better overall look

If you wanted to add a bit of colour to your hair and your not sure about making that full commitment. You could use hair extensions to provide the colour to your hair, whilst adding thickness and not damaging your hair! I would experiment with this before taking the plunge of dying your hair!

med to dark i say blonde streaks. light brown, go blonde.

if you go blonde yourself it will turn orange... you'd have to do it several times. i wouldn't do blonde streaks either. i would do ver suttle highlights all over your head. it would lighten it up.. also around your face leave them on longer
