And is there ever a time when they may try to mend the hurt they have caused, if they realize they do in fact want to be with this woman? I just need some hope that he may come back, since he still cares about me

They can't know because it depends on how much you had invested in the relationship.

All men realize when they've broken a woman's but only a select few actually care about it.Yes some men actually try to mend the hurt only if they didn't intend on breaking it.sometimes you have to face it that some men are just players for life.

Okay lets start from the beginning. It sounds like to me he is already gone, and you being in love with him, you want him to come back?. If this is the case honey let it go. I understand this type of thing is hard. But if he/she brakes the others heart, then is it really meant to be? When two people love each other, they don't hurt each other, and even though there are arguments, arguments are natural. But to hurt someone then walk away..just keep going. So in the end when they finally realize what they have done, and they try to mend the heart, to come back, let the answer be no. If it were me, I'd say "you hurt me once, and i can not subject myself to that kind of hurt again,,I just wont."...But truthfully, in the end, no matter what other people say, you already know what it is you want to. The best advise i can give....follow your heart,or the gut feeling..or the little voice that nags at you, what ever it maybe..you know what to do!

I don't think so. they are thick in the head. I broke up a long relationship after I was told I go around with my head up my A__!

I quit him and dated others. We are sort of friendly and now if we are out he wants to bring up why I dumped him. This was 4 years ago i broke it off and took my pillow. LOL...Anyhow I told him that saying something like that (and other little snipes over the years ) could fly is there had ever been a positive. He just stared at me. He didn't get it. ...even when told. He wants to makes excuses for his behavior but there is no excuse for bad behavior. Why am I friends with him ....he is smart in many ways, generous, my kids love him, he has nobody, and my interest is many miles away. no hanky Pank though as I just a friend. .
To finish he won't try to mend ..he hopes you will forget it. Is he worth another hurt?

From my experience, men only realize they have broken a woman's heart years after it has happened. They usually contact you with some apology and story about how stupid they were and it is usually too late, because you've moved on a nd realized how much better you are without them and how it was a blessing that they messed up. He will come back, but you'll be over him by then and able to chalk your experience up to just that - something that made you stronger and wiser.

I'm sorry to say that but MEN in general don't care about women's feelings, they even don't see if they've broken a woman's heart.

yes, guys generally will know when their actions hurt others.. breaking up is emotional for both the guy and the girl, no matter which one did the breaking up.

as far as him coming back to you? it will depend on why he broke up.. he may still care, yet not be ready for a relationship.

could be something he doesn't like about you, or coulkd be nothing to do with you. could be he is going thru some personal problems and needs some space.

don't pressure him too hard.. give him some space and let him be the one to decide if/when he wants another chance with you..

you might be better off trying to move on though.. hard to say.. he may only continue to hurt you.

If he truly loves her - meaning he's willing to put her needs above his - then he'll realize. If he's selfish, he'll never realize anyone else's loss or brokeness except for his own. It takes him coming to the end of himself before he can understand how another one feels.

A man that cares about a woman deeply takes it very hard inside feelings and worse that women do, only they do not show their emotions like a woman. It depends on wha the break-up is all about and a man knows if you truly loved him or not and just your love can draw him back. Just busy yourself with other things and he will show up soon unexpectly, and that only means wait him out.
