Here's the truth. When people are looking for truth in religion, they are searching for a place within themselves in which they can accept, not knowing. The spiritual component of truth is therefore faith, of any flavor you desire. It is belief and acceptance without emperical evidence. One who looks for truth is therefore challenging the conventions of his or her religious practice, rather than accepting the prescribed way.

There is no search for truth without accepting that you must give up some of the things that you hold true. Those looking for the truth will therefore always say that they will accept it in any form; however, the truth that escapes them is that it is not discovered externally, but within.

I've asked myself that question before. The more I've come to know Christ, the more I've found myself accepting the truth regardless of the outcome. So, I guess I am willing to accept it, because I know that God is good and I have seen that He is good even if the outcome doesn't look good immediately..and I have found that the truth sets me free so that I don't have to be scared of some seemingly ominous outcome.

I intend to be willing to accept truth.
My search is for truth.
I can't see how that could be avoided inevitably.
If truth is the answer, the outcome could only be positive.

good question, if i found the truth and its not what i expected i would be extremely disapointed because my faith is in me, i have a hard time thinking differently, when it comes to the truth of God and life after death.

i guess after some time my brain would have no choice but to accept the truth. i don't think we will ever find the "truth" in our lifetime, so this scenerio will never be true

Absolutely, reality may be harsh but it's better than living in some manmade dreamworld. Then again, the truth may be better than the fiction.

No point looking for the truth if you're gonna close your eyes and stick your fingers in your ears to avoid facing it.

People don't want truth. They want "feel good" stuff. To have their ears
"tickled" as it says in the Scriptures.
"Don't prophesy unto us hard things, prophesy unto us smooth things."
They're ALL in for a rude awakening!

I did.

And I had to accept what I found out to be true... Which is why I left the Church of my fathers.

Peace be with you.

It does get scary, but the truth is what is important. Not your comfort level.
