a friend of mine has proclamed his love for a 16 yo girl. she is sweet, funny, smart, etc (his words) the problem is first of all he is 25! And its his bosses daughter!!!! I have tried to talk reason into him by saying that he should wait until she is out of school and if it is meant to be it can be then. I know they have NOT had sex. But how can i get him to see reason on this. He is jeopardizing his work rep and personal rep. most of our friends are no longer speaking to him. I dont want to do that I feel I need to be here for him when it does crash around him. What should i say to him to get him to see reason on this. And please yes i already know its wrong and yes i have already told him this

16 is age of consent in this state not that it makes it right
and the relationship is not one sided...they go out on dates:(

you don't really say whether this is just a one-sided crush, or if the 16 yr old is interested in him too.. and if so, what extend has their "relationship" developed.
if he is 25, he should be old enough and mature enough to know that dating the boss' daughter, regardless of her age, is a bad career move.
the fact that he is interested in a 16 yr old, well, it's probably just a physical attraction. it's not uncommon for older guys to be physically attracted to teen girls..
but a relationship won't last.. 25 vs 16 is a huge age gap. they are both in totally different stages of their lives.. different priorities, different values, different wants and needs, different expectations of what a relationship is.
i don't really think there is much you can do to stop him. but the good news is that if they are dating, chances are, the relationship won't last long.
you just gotta hope that when it does go sour, that it won't effect his job. and hopefully, his boss will never find out!

I would print some pics of people that were arrested, spent time in jail and ended up with a tatoo of a pediphile online for the rest of their lives. Print out pic of people where they were not seekers, but young men with women too young for them like this. He does not sound very mature to be throwing his life away so carelessly. You have got to scare him out of his mind. Do an intervention with the friends and family that know and still love him. He can love her from afar for a while. If this doesn't work, let him learn the hard way. You're a really good friend. And I know you care, but you cannot rescue.

Tell him about prison. If he does this, his boss will find out, fire him, and send him to prison. ANd tell him if he truly loves her (which is just wierd anyways) then he can wait untill she is 18 before having any kind of romantic relationship. But i would really push that prison thing, get all the details, and make sure he REALLY understands. Good Luck..i hope he gets the point.

No matter how hard you try to tell a person sometimes it just don't sink in. He should it's wrong. All you can do is keep reminding him that it's wrong and hope for the best. All the talk in the world don't help sometimes.

let him know that if he doesn't end this now he could be labeled a pedophile. just by trying to have a relationship with this girl, he could be tried and convicted of being a sexual predator. that will follow him through his life, he will have to tell all of his neighbors he's a sex offender, and will most likely get his a** whooped on a regular basis. let him know that if he doesn't end it now, that you will have to contact the authorities.

When he finds himself in jail than he will have wished he had listen to you. You need to go talk to this little girl and make sure she knows that she is going to ruin his life and maybe she will be grownup enough to listen and walk away
