I often come across articles that can be classified as Airbus vs. Boeing infamous debate material, But I have never noticed a Bombardier vs. Embraer discussions, Probably because they're the "small boys"?! So which one you think is more successful and why?

I think Bombardier may be a slightly better product, engineering wise. I have flown many times on the small Embraer 135 and 145.
They are a bit tight in the cabin, but I liked their performance and handling. However, twice I experienced a sudden pull towards the left side for no apparent reason. A friend of mine who is a veteran pilot said the aircraft has a few unexplained quirks in it. Since then, I try to avoid them.

When my Mom worked for Comair (The Delta Connection), Embraer tried to get Comair to buy the ERJ. Some of employees went on a flight and ended up saying that the CRJ by Bombardier flies more smooth. The CRJ is wider than the ERJ so that might have a little to do with it. But I think Embraer has a better product with the E170 and E190 because it is wider and the cabin height higher. Apparently a lot of airlines have bought those aircraft as opposed to the CRJ that seats 70-90 people.

I'd say a draw, with Embraer a little ahead of Bombardier now that they are the world's 3rd largest airplane manufacturer.

Embraer's ERJ regional jet family is superior to Bombardiers CRJ. Even though Bombardier effectively revolutionized the Regional Jet, Embraer has further done so by adding the quasi mainline jet E-jet family. Embraer also has a developing military and corporate selections. These include the Phenom (VLJ) for corporate and the Super Tucano for military.

The E-jets which consist of the Embaer EMB-170/175/190/195 are superior to 737s/A320s in some aspects.

Where Bombardier takes the cake IMO is business jets and turboprops. Their DASH-8 family of turboprops is one of the most successfull propeller driven plane EVER. The DASH-8 Q400 is superior to regional jets on many runs, due to its better operating economics, and speeds of over 350knots.
Bombardier then has the Learjet, which is self explanatory.

Personally I prefer the Bombardier lines. apples to apples, the CRJ competes with the ERJ. The CRJ has a wider cabin, more legroom, and more advanced avionics to play with. Because its simply an upgraded version of the Challenger, some of its systems in the -200 are a bit antiquated, but the -700 is a sleek beast that rivals any airplane in the sky in terms of performance and comfort. The ERJs are skinnier, 1x2 seating vs. the CRJ's 2x2 and more claustrophobic. IMO the CRJs take the cake. However, the E-Jets, are pretty darn cool and might give Embraer the competitive advantage needed to jump out ahead. They are sleek, modern, efficient, and fast. Good aircraft, but they're too new to really have an opinion of them yet.

Both have good products, but I think Embraer is slightly better in terms of costs and technology. Recently Embraer launched a new model of commercial air-jet named Legacy with many improvements in relation of Bombardier.

Embraer recently entered the private jet market in a big way where Bombardier has been for decades. I like the new jets they are building which are extremely efficient and more cost effective than the Bombardier products.

I prefer Bombardier cabins as they are much wider than Embraers. However, Embraer has that new jet with it's engines on the wings resembles little 737.

I like Bombardier because I am Canadian. I think it is funny that Air Canada just bought Embraer jets since the Government jus bailed them out (again).

But Embraer makes good aircraft, (and most have Canadian engines anyways).
