Your hair type seems to match mine some 3 years ago...
What i did was oiled my hair. Kept the oil in my hair for at least 2 hrs before showering. I still do this... apply shampoo twice to the scalp, once to clean the scalp and second to clean the strands. I don't apply excess conditioner as this tends to get my hair greasy in a days time... depending on the length of hair I apply conditioner.. I don't go overboard on the conditioner.. my hair is mid back length and i apply about a tablespoon and a half of conditioner to my hair... Leave it in for 2-3 mins and then wash off well. Always use a clean comb or brush for your hair. Pat your hair dry, don't blow dry too often. That's basically what I do and it has worked for me.. my hair stays controlled and frizz free and also has a healthy shine to it.... talking about healthy, i think it's important to drink lots of water and lead a healthy lifestyle... Try some products and use whatever suits your hair type.... what works for me might not work for you. ........ have a great hair day...

Use a moisturizing shampoo/conditioner, and make sure to deep condition your hair once a week. If your hair is too poofy get some nice layers cut into your hair to decrease the poof. Rinse your hair with cold water to increase the shine. Also if you rinse with vinager that promots shine.. Good luck.

I have to agree with Chicana...Pantene works the best for me. Also try not to use hair products that have alot of alcohol in them for this tends to dull and dry your hair. Frizz Ease works for the dryness as well. You can buy this at Wal Mart. They come in packets of 2 for less than $2. Good Luck!

therres frizz controllers that also add shine to ur hair i think one of the best ones i have tried is called frizz-eiz...also if u starighten ur hair ceramic hair irons make ur hair super shiney and healthy looking..the shine comes from oil in ur hair..natural oils it doesnt mean that ur hair has to be dirty to be shiney tho!.. avoid dyeing ur hair too much cause that deff.. takes away shine and makes hair dull after a while ..keep looking theres products out there that would eaisly solve ur problem.

it sounds like you may need a trim. also try the mayo thing... but it has to be real mayo... or you can go to sally's beauty suply and get this stuff called cholesterol which is kind of the same thing. Don't use cheap shampoo/conditioner either. they tend to have more water and detergent which drys out your hair. try Aveda products... they are kind of expensive but they are 97% natural and they don't use detergents but essential oils to lather. Get "damage remedy" kind.

You can try the Beer Hair Rinse, and it will definitely add shine to your hair together with the vinegar, the recipe is here: http://beauty-tricks.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&Itemid=99999999&id=332
