Discrimination to the majority. Simple as that. I completely agree with you.

Why do they not want to show "A Nativity Story" in movie theaters?
From the reviews that I've read, the movie is pretty bad.
Did people care about the Christians when "The Da Vinci Code" came out into theaters?
The Da Vinci Code is a work of FICTION. It's the result of someone taking common mythology, and spinning a new tale around it.
So why do non-Christains views matter more than Christian views?
They don't. According to the US Constitution, both sides should be given equal footing.
It is weird how people get so freaked out when God is mentioned in anything Christmas related. It is his holiday after all.
You know nothing about history, or the facts surrounding the holiday celebrated on Dec. 25. This was originally a holiday celebrated by many different pagan traditions. During christianity's big push to become a dominant religion, the church took the date, and established it as the accepted birthdate of their messiah. This was done to make converting the pagan cultures easier, as well as to make the claim that they were celebrating the right day for the wrong reasons. According to the mythology held by the church, Mary conceived at the start of December, and unless there was divine intervention to speed up the gestation of the "messiah", he would actually have been born in August of our calendar.

Well that's news to me...so what are all the "coming soon to theaters" commercials for? To waste money?
Edit: Don't even start with "The Da Vinci Code," in some places people protested that like crazy...a freakin' movie. Yet they let the supposedly gruesome "Passion" show, so people need to get a life and stop protesting freakin' movies.

I feel the excact same way! I think it really is ridiculous, and unfair of course, and they are going to have to be offended because this is a free America, and a land made to be under God. Only people who are not truly serving God are going to be publicly hypocritical like that. Nobody wants to hear the truth. There was a point before I was a christian where I wouldnt do certain things, and even though I had been brought up in chruch and in a house which loved the Lord, but did not serve Him myself, I still knew what was right and what was wrong, and never did them. My intincs would take me only so far, but I never understood why others were so accustomed and unfeeling towards things that were wrong, and I was not. They are avoiding God, because in their hearts they know, but dont accept, and are truly and sadly missing out on the fruitful life! They want to do their own will, and take the easier route. Im so sorry all this happens. I was so excited when I heard about this movie though, and the other movie, A night with the King. I hope more movies continue like this, and I was wondering when they were going to come out with some movies I and other christians can appreciate and watch without displeasing God.
We will be ridiculed in some way or another, once or twice as a christian, however many times it may be, but I am glad I and other people are willing to stand up for the truth and a Lord who loves, and gives so much. It's perfectly wonderful how it took a turn like that.
There are still people who believe though, and one thing really kept my faith and spirit in the right feeling and spirit of christmas. (Jesus's birthday) I was walking on my way to school and I saw a sign in someones front yard on a main road, and suprisingly untouched by those who might not agree with what it said, and it said "Keep Christ in Christmas". Jesus wants us to have faith! We are the light to save these people, they dont deserve it anymore or less than we do, of course it's up to Him who he chooses to do his work too!
Thank you so much for a more possitive question, all things considered, I could answer! Everything else was really starting to get me a little down.
I hope I might have answered your question a little better than stating my opinion!

I have to agree - who are "they"? Look - it's a movie. Like any other form of entertainment, people have the choice to spend their money on it, or not. Personally I won't, but I don't care if you wanna throw your 10 bucks away on a film that describes something you all know by heart, and have seen in other films dozens of times before. I mean, come on, what can be any different about this movie than, say, "The Greatest Story Ever Told"? Further, not everyone gets freaked by the mention of God. We just want everyone to be able to celebrate what THEY believe, too, not just the christers.

I just got back from seeing The Nativity Story. It was awesome. I go to see a movie almost every week. This was one of the best...I'd say in the top 10 of all the movies I've seen. And that's not just because I'm a believer. It was very well made. I highly recommend it. Take some tissues.
Joseph's response when the baby Jesus was born is something I'll never forget!!! Go see it!!!

It just shows how intolerant other people are. They brand Christians being the majority as intolerant, but others can be intolerant also, even minorities. Some will use their disadvantages for selfish purposes. I don’t mean to offend anyone but the truth hurts. Secularist and Atheist would say how Cruel Christians are,, but they won’t mention just a century ago how millions of religious people died practicing their faith from Atheist Russia (USSR back then), China, Cambodia, etc,

It's just another movie based on a popular myth...I haven't heard any stories of there being protests about it being shown...but the non-believers I know find it amusing that it is being billed as "the true story" as if, assuming the story of christ was true and not a myth, that anyone would know what the 'truth' was after 2000 yrs... *laughs*
I like mythology...I won't go see the movie because it doesn't interest me really (not for what tickets cost anyway), but I'll probably check it out when it hits TV...just out of curiosity...

I thought they were going to release it in theaters. In fact, I'm pretty sure it starts the same week as Christmas. I'm not Christian, and I would like to see it. I saw the Passion of the Christ. It didn't offend me.

Um, yeah, who is this "they" that doesn't want it in theaters?
It's in theaters where I live.
I did read the whole question, and you still haven't said who the "they" that doesn't want it in theaters is. You say "non-Christians" but as I am a non-Christian, I know that this is not true of the entire group of non Christians, so...
"They" could be your non Christian next door neighbors.
"They" could be the non Christian citizens of Butte Montana for all I know.
So, who is "they"?
And the holiday is originally Pagan, not Christian, dear.

The Passion of the christ was enough BS, when the davinchi code was at the theaters people whined and cried that it was desecrating thier religion, grow up christians, the world has had it with your shennanigans.
Oh and i found out who was banning it, it was christians trying to pick a fight with non christians, like what you are doing.
