Usually two scoops of ice cream, enough soda to at least get the ice cream to "float" a little bit in the soda of your choice. Let the mixture sit for a few seconds so the ice cream and soda can mix naturally on their own so you get the foam at the top of the glass. Vanilla ice cream is a good base for this

1. put a couple scoops of ice cream in a tall glass
2. add enough soda water to cover the ice cream
3. stir with a long spoon and drink with a straw
best combo is vanilla with soda water
you can also use vanilla and coke to make a coke float, but I find it too sweet. also works with sprite.

I enjoy root beer floats, but you can use many different kinds of soda. What you do is get a scoop of vanilla ice cream, put it in a cup, and poor soda over it.

Cream Soda Float
1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon kool-aid powdered unsweetened lemonade mix
1 cup very hot water
1 cup light corn syrup
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
10 cups cold club soda
10 scoops vanilla ice cream
Dissolve the sugar and the Kool-Aid in the hot water in a pitcher. Add the corn syrup and the vanilla extract. Sir well. Cover and chill syrup until cold. When the syrup is cold, pour 1/4 cup syrup into 1 cup cold club soda, stir gently and add 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. (Make sure your cup is large enough because it will fizz and bubble!). Store remaining syrup in the refrigerator.

Either chocolate or strawberry syrup on the bottom, then pour in some milk about half way; fill almost to the top with soda water and then drop in one to two scoops of whatever ice cream you like.
My personal favorite is chocolate syrup with espresso ice cream. Yum!

Take your favorite soda,coke,sprite,Dr.Pepper etc and
a scoop or two of Vanilla Ice cream or what ever flavor of
Ice Cream you like.Vanilla is the best for a float.

get a tall glass put some cola then ice cream(vanilla ice cream is the best) then if you like, you can add chocolate syrup on top of ice cream.yummy

very simple put soda in a cup add a scoop of icecream serve with a spoon and straw.!! ENJOY!!
