Most vet's like to fix male's between 6 to 8 months and females can be fixed at 6 months. Call your vet to make sure he will to the males this early in age but most will.

I'd fix them asap. My old lady passed away after being with me for 17 1/2 years and she was fixed at six months. Unless you're a breeder have your pets fixed no later then 6 month so you don't run the risk of males spraying and females getting pregnant.

We had our kitten spayed at 12 weeks.

Our male cat was neutered somewhere between 4 and 5 months.

If you wait much longer on the females they will go into heat and if you wait much longer on the males they will start to spray.

Neither is pleasant.

6 months old is the average age for kittens to be fixed.

6 months is actually a perfect age to have the cats altered. They can get their required vaccinations at the same time. (Some vets will do it as early as 4 months or as soon as the cat reaches 4 pounds.)

And thank you for being a repsonsible pet owner.

Six months is generally old enough; however, the vet will usually insist on having them vaccinated first, if they haven't been already.

If possible, try waiting a bit longer for the males. Male cats that are neutered too early are very prone to bladder and kidney stone problems when they get older.

Do it like tomorrow. Don't put it off as things get hectic for Christmas. At six months or before is best. Seven or eight months is getting late and you may have problems (pregnancy or male spraying).

Our Vet said it's best to wait until they are four or five months old. Your cats are old enough. I'd say you should get them fixed now.

Six months is almost a MUST DO for the female, unless you want kittens. The males can wait a bit longer, if you have to prioritize. I wouldn't let a male go much more than a year, unless you want spraying behavior to start.
