Some people will only defend the rights of their own people. They have the right to ridicule others, but others have no right to ridicule them!
Yeah, it's stupid, nuts, arrogant and ignorant!
Respect is not a one way street! ; )

As Christians we DO NOT have freedom of speech. We must treat people with love and respect. Jesus said we should bless those that persecute us. How much more should we be loving to those on this message board who do not come anywhere near the persecution level? We are told to be loving and kind to thoser that call us enemy, and to never repay evil with evil, but always with good. Paul teaches that we should not judge non-believers, because that is God's job alone. So, Julia is free to say what she likes. We Christians are not free to respond in kind.

Free speach is a political, democratic, ideal ensconced in the Bill of Rights, but it is merely deduced from the Bible and not directly stated in the Bible.
Free will is a bit of a misnomer. We are free, but there must be limits; no one is free to shout "FIRE" in a crowded theater when there is no fire. On the other hand, niether are we "free" not to yell fire when there is, in fact a fire. Freedom is always limited, unlimited freedom would be unacceptable chaos.
The idea of free will assumes that we would do something good with that freedom, which we are incabable of doing because we are all sinners.
Free will is not baloney, but neither is it "free" and our wills are fallen, contaminated, and defaced, if not destroyed by sin.
Romans 3:23
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We are only "free" if we are in Christ:
Romans 8:20-21 "For the creation was subjected to futility, not of its own will, but because of Him who subjected it, in hope 21 that the creation itself also will be set free from its slavery to corruption into the freedom of the glory of the children of God."

God is still the Fact of free will, not the ACT. But how free do you want Christians to speak? Cuss? Deprecate people or, even worse, gossip? If we were to achieve such a nadir of free speech, what would be the difference between the lost and dying world and us? We have such freedom, but we answer to a higher authority, and never to ourselves or the world!

The concept of the right of Freedom of Speech grew out of values adopted from early democracy in anchient Greece. It is a western social value.
It is not a religious one

A Christian is capable of saying anything, though they need to be saying things that are true, and make sure that they don't lie if they know the truth. But, yes, Christians have freedom of speech, we just need to research and know the Bible so we can speak with God's wisdom and make sure what we say is in accordance with Him and His will.

Christian belief is faith - faith is free will. ergo..........
Julia has the same rights as everyone else but whether it is sensible to express the views she does is another point. What point is she trying to make?

" We have such freedom, but we answer to a higher authority, and never to ourselves or the world! ", a quote from one of the answers. "We have to consult with God first" in others. I guess the answer is no they don't have free will, only what god grants them. Also they are arrogant enough to believe that theirs is the only true religion, and that the rest of the world are heathens, so their views don't count.

It has crossed my mind to report Julia for abuse. i've always felt though, that we must be free to speak our minds and, as long as we don't use abusively critical language, then it's ok.
I do wonder, though, how she manages to earn enough points so quickly to be able to post so many questions.
