of your OWN faith or non-faith? It seems to me everyone WANTS to get along here, they even try to get along, I feel ,however, if we spent a little time correcting bigotry or inaccuracy among those in our own little cliques we would spend a lot less time correcting those in other cliques/ groups. Your thoughts or practices regarding this?

Gypsy white moon: we seem to have a difference in opinion on the word biggot, and I don't mind someone telling me I'm wrong. But to clear up the confusion, what I meant was INTOLERANCE, I tolerate others' views when they differ from mine. I even enjoy and appreciate difference. I don't judge a book by its cover.

There are many rights and many wrongs, it depends on who you ask. I have but few answers and many questions. My answers are most often wrong for many, so be warned, never take them to heart because I am a troll and nothing more . I believe what I believe for my own reasons and ask no one to agree or disagree. And it is my opinion that bigotry is wrong but it is each ones right to be bigoted if they so choose.

I don't believe in judging - that is condemning - people (I have to be more careful with my words, judging in the sense of evaluationg is OK). Saying that, bigotry is one thing I cannot stand. It is like looking for the worst you can find in a population group and applying that to everyone in the group. It blinds you to learning about the diversity of human culture and expression. It cuts you off from people that might enrich your life. In short, bigotry is insane. OK, maybe I am judging. People sometimes say that when I speak out against people judging each other, I am being judgmental myself. I do not have an answer for that. All I know is we could do with more people embracing love than hate.
Love all, forgive all, show mercy, judge no-one

Well, it is rather hard with this sort of answer system to correct misunderstandings as it is a singluar answer system rather than interactive with one another.
There is nothing to stop one having a private conversation however through the 360 homepage arrangement with someone who may have a contrary opinion to yourself, allowing you to extend your boundaries and both to learn new ideas and expand your horizons.
At worst, if someone is abusive the other can simply cut the communication line, at best you introduce yourself to potential new friends with common concerns.
So maybe this is not such a bad system after all of getting different ideas together. Go wiki

Maybe before someone posts what other religions believe in , if they are not of that religion, they could ask first before they lie about something. And another thing ... through the ages, it has always been fighting words to talk about someone's mama so do not speak of The Blessed Virgin Mary like she was a hooker or something. The amount of disrespect for Holy people and things is astonishing

You can't correct biggotry - and who gives you the right to? Do you have all the right answers. people have a right to an oppinion even if its wrong. they have a right to a belief system even if its not your belief system otherwise it becomes a dictatorship where people are dictated to?
So you correct someone with a view not yours or not considered right by you - you tell them that their own view is incorrect and stupid so what are they going to do listen to you a biggot by definition is someone who cannot be told they are in the wrong, they are cant be taught or educated you would be best to not waste your precious time!!

I like the fact that bigots exist. People attacking my point of view normally make my opinion even stronger because if I was talking sh*t my argument would soon fall apart. I would not like to live in a world without a bit of conflict.

I think most people become intolerant as a result of being treated with intolerance. Try treating people with kindness...the golden rule. Use reason and understanding when you speak to people. Confrontational tactics only spread more intolerance. If it does not work, you know you did your part anyway.

I'll call stupidity and intolerance wherever I see it. I don't care if that person is an atheist or not. I especially am bothered by atheists being foolish, unintelligent sounding, and intolerant. I expect that sort of behavior from xian fundies, but people who think for themselves should know better.

If you get a good answer, someone should let The President know right away.

I have found that bigotry is not something to change. Bigots are usually so set in their ideas, and maybe not intelligent enough to sort out reasonings---------forget it. It is hopeless. The don't change.
