Coco butter and other creams will help, but you have to use them often and regularly. It will take some time, but it helps.

I've had stretch marks before, and since I can't get pregant (guy) it was due to weight gain. Stretch marks occur when the bottom layer of the skin overstrectchs, resulting in a tear. Since this layer differs in thickness from person to person, some people might get them if they weigh 170 lbs, or others if they were to weigh 290 lbs. I don't remember when mine first appeared, but they were really red like yours. I used to weigh 260lbs, although they appeared well before that. I have lost 40 lbs, and they are no longer red, not really white either. They are basically unnoticable unless you look very closely, and they are only noticed then since they are just little patches of raised skin. They also shrunk tremendously. I never used coccoa butter, although that is probably easier than losing weight. I don't know if losing weight enough weight would make them dissappear altogether, but mine have improved a lot; i used to be very embarrassed to go swimming, but now it's not really a big deal.

Sorry to tell you, but nothing gets rid of stretch marks once they're there. (Cocoa butter is preventative, not a cure.) However, diet and exercise will lower the appearance of them. Try this site: www.sparkpeople.com They have helped me go from 219 to my current 177 (my goal is 150). It's free and very helpful, and my stretch marks aren't nearly as obvious as they were.

Good luck!

To prevent stretch marks and scars effectively use cocoa butter or a mixture of olive oil and herbs. You can find more cheap and natural remedies for stretch marks and scars at

You are pretty much stuck. I seen people try laser and get scarred. Microderm does nothing as the skin is split. Its how you are made. I have 4 kids and not one stretch mark...Go figure. And I got huge. With my last child I only found one top that would go over my stomache. Who is going to see them anyhow. Turn down the light and pick a guy who wears glasses and takes them off to be romantic.

Nope they're there to stay. Unless you can get cosmetic surgery. They're nothing to compaired to when you have a kid.
