I am not married yet, but am engaged--i would say that it is the vows, the giving of the rings or the first kiss or first dance---the things that people look forward to or the things that make a wedding a wedding, the things that people remember from the wedding---that long kiss, the gorgeous rings, that amazing first dance-----Good Luck!

Interesting timing. I just married the love of my life today. I would not have been able to answer this question until today.
When we exchanged rings and looked deep into each other's eyes was the most wonderful and perfect moment of my life. He even told me later at dinner that he knew at that moment that we will always be together because of the love he saw in my eyes.
In other words, I could not have had such a wonderful wedding without the exchange of rings and pledging our devotion to each other.

Really its just getting married I'm not saying you shouldn't I'm saying you should give it alto of thought first and if your not ready and he is postpone it because if its true love he will wait and make sure your doing it for all the right reasons too.I think the scar yest part is wondering how much your life will change so to answer your question it walking down the isle knowing that for the rest of your life this is who your going to love honer and deal with always and forever you are committed to one person who you will have to ask if you can go out with friends and ask if you can go shopping etc and so forth.

Our 12 year anniversary is coming up? I still remember my day. My cake was sooooo good! All Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolates bars melted over it!!! (: I did not want to eat any thing the day of. I was not hungry and that's not me. After our wedding we ate and ate again. Weird! I guess there was just to much going on during the wedding to think of food.
I love to watch brides in there dresses. All so pretty!! (: Just try not to over stress out! Enjoy your day!! Don't let any small thing mess up your whole day! ):

I guess for a couple it would be the vows; especially if they've written them or at least had some input. But there is nothing greater than to repeat those words that have been done so time & time again; "....to have & to hold, from this day forward......"
But for me, I never tire of saying the words, " I now pronounce you husband & wife". It is a thrill each & every time.

I would have to say, the most meaningful part of a wedding is planning it.

Well in a Catholic Church walking down the aisle with your Father and Mother. And seeing your future husband in his tuxedo. Then your parents both kiss you and your Father hands you over to your future husband. That is the most meaningful to me.

vows..it's what I am looking forward to next year when we get married. I am going to cry A LOT :) Whether you recite or write your own, I feel like they are the most intense part of the ceremony because you are announcing your undying faith and devotion to another soul.. love is wonderful =D

I think it's the moment you're pronounced husband and wife - it's so beautiful to know your marriage is official and you seal it with a kiss. :) I remember getting married a year ago and what a special day it was - especially being surrounded by family and friends who were equally as happy and excited to be there with us.

When I saw my wife for the first time in her dress.
Time stopped and she literally took my breath away.
To not see your soon to be wife or husband I think
is one of the best traditions that we have. It gives this
awesome sense of excitement and mystery. Which
in a way is kinda of like falling in love in the first place..
