If you are a Christian, what do you say it is that makes Christians different from the rest of the world?

It can't be just morality, because there are people who live moral lives who aren't Christians.

It can't be just "signs and wonders," because Jesus said that many false christs would come with many signs and wonders as deceit.

So, what do you think is the greatest evidence that Christ lives in the hearts of believers?

I wish I could just should "AMEN!" to my fellow believers! :) This helps a ton and it helps me share my faith with others. I've begun to start thinking that authenticity AND love are the biggest factors that show a true Christian.
1.) We walk in the light because Jesus is the TRUTH
2.) We love God with everything and our neighbor as ourselves..which, as another person said, takes care of our morality. Loving God makes us want to change from the inside out! :)

I'm getting so much help here that I dont' want to pick one "best" asnwer.

Our Savior conquered death and rose from the dead. No other god has made such claim and followed through with this action. Dionysos, Osiris, and many others never followed through however and were left in history.

Jesus is pretty audacious!

The only answer it can be: The Sacrament of Holy Baptism. It is the New Birth. It is God working on our souls. It is the regenerative Power of God. We are ontologically different at that moment. The Sacrament is "indelible".

Anything else (including any "decision" we make "for Christ") would be a "work".

It's all God's doing. It's all God's Grace.

Even the Faith we have is a gift.

Romans 6:3 "Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? 4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."

John 13:35 "By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another."

Sadly, many Christians do not display this characteristic.

John 14:15 "If you love Me, you will keep My commandments."

By this verse, morality IS a factor, if we understand by that "keeping His commandments."

John 15:16 "You did not choose Me, but I chose you, and appointed you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask of the Father in My name, He may give to you."

"Bear fruit" is an allegory for bringing others to Christ, also for having what is called "the fruit of the Spirit:"
Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law."

These things are in contrast to the acts of the flesh listed in the verses before it.

A true Christian will have a deep love in his heart for his fellow man and his transformed life becomes an example of selflessness. His love motivates him to walk in the footsteps of his master, Jesus. Who's unconditional love led him to shed his precious blood for us. He said that all will know that we are his disciples if we have love among ourselves. We love because he first loved us. So I would say it is love that is the greatest evidence that Christ lives in our hearts.

John said:

"And by this we may be certain that we have knowledge of Him, if we keep His laws. The man who says, I have knowledge of Him, and does not keep His laws, is false, and there is nothing true in him: But in every man who keeps His word, the love of God is made complete. By this we may be certain that we are in Him. He who says that He is living in Him, will do as He did."

Hope that helps :)

Nothing makes them different... other believers have joy, love, strong belief, "blessings", "answered prayers"... the whole nine yards.

As for dying to oneself... Buddhism speaks of destroying desire and the ego.

As for a savior that died and rose again... Dionysos, Osiris, and many others.
