The oldest sibling insists on taking pix. at every single family function! Example: our nephew was married in Sept.'06,okay thats fine, but the next month, another function and here he is w/ the dam*ed camera again! We have asked him nicely to stop taking pix,but he thinks hes in charge cuz hes the oldest.btw~~I'm the youngest,w/ 3 others in between,I'm also the one thats most confrontational. Any advice besides taking a hammer to the camera?

I, like your brother take photo's when ever i can, even when we are not at functions, just sitting at the table i will snap a picture. I don't do this to annoy people I do it because life is made up of all these special moments and i just happen to want to catch and preserve those moments forever, and you will be amazed at how comforting a simple photo can be especially if you have lost someone dear to you and a photo may be all you have to remember them by. So perhaps when he brings the camera to your table you could just smile, after all what harm is it really doing to you?

OK be cute, get dressed up, and have that person become your personal camera person, have them take picks of you on the phone, in the car, down the street, in the house, change close a lot, put on makeup over and over, make them take your pitcher, over and over, no matter how you do not want it done. Trust me, they will not want to take another pitcher of you.
Then make a photo book of you, and call it your siblings name.
The day I broke the camera by_____
But you being the youngest.. you got what it takes to drive them crazy for a change.

its his camera! he can capture any memory he wants.

if you dont want to pose for pictures, then dont!

i dont know why that would piss you off, i mean i would have to know the guy, maybe he is really annoying..

but more likely, he just likes his new camera, so he wants to get his moneys worth!

a family member taking pictures is hardly something to start a damn feud over!

if that's the biggest issue you guys have, i would just let it go. the more you nag him about it, the more hes gunna do it in spite.

just ignore it, if he wants to take pics, then let him be.

the last family gathering we had, someone got bit by a dog, someone got drunk and naked, and there was a fight over who's pumpkin pie to eat.

so. i think your making a big deal over probably the most minuscule thing i have ever heard. sorry

how would you feel if someone dies, you will wish you had more pix of them. it could be worse he could be doing crack or something . just let him be and smile a few damn pictures if he is older than 40 he can croke at any minute so enjoy him and that damn camera while you still can

Bear this slight inconvenience. I assure you that you and everyone else will experience great joy and gratitude many years from now when you look at the pictures.

i used to feel that way when i was younger but in time you'll appreciate those pics, they freeze time and they can always take you back to happy times.let him know how you feel, but don't get rid of the camera all together
