If you're going to Basic Training (BCT) for the Army, there will be NO pass to go off post. It's 9 weeks of training. You won't be there to play, visit or have fun. If you make it to graduation, you'll get a pass for graduation, but you'll still have to return for lights out.

When my son went through a year and a half ago, there were NO passes during BCT, even on graduation days. The day before grad day was family day - on base. The next day was graduation after which, the soldiers were IMMEDIATELY shipped off to their advanced training bases. Once in AIT, then they earned passes with grades and behavior. Good Luck and just remember, BCT doesn't last forever. Suck it up and learn from the Drill Sgts. the information just might save your life some day.

You do not receive any off base passes during Basic. My husband is AF and he was able to go off-base for 6 hours the DAY of his graduation. You will be confined to base for your entire basic training. When you get to Tech school, you will have more liberties.

At least in the Marines there is no off base pass. Boot Camp is designed for one purpose. To turn an average American teenager into a killing machine. Round the clock brainwashing with weapons and hand to hand training thrown in. A little history, more weopons and hand to hand training. Viola. An 18 year old that can kill with his bare hands or an M16. Hurrah!

There will not be any passes for those people going through basic training. Maybe, just maybe, the whole group will get a weekend pass sometime during mid training.

When I was in Navy boot camp in 1997, we didn't get to go off base until we graduated and liberty weekend. Then, there was one day out of three that we had to stay on base.

Other than that, unless you had a family emergency, you weren't allowed to leave.

Better makes some friends in BCT...you'll be with them til they let you off base at the end of your training. Don't worry, you'll have plenty to keep you occupied.
