Looking for individuals who have actually suffered this type of injury and did not lose the foot. Few broken bones, mainly soft tissue, nerve, muscle, tendon damage.

Dang, depends on how much damage is done...if you fell off a motorcycle, go see a orthopedic specialist for surgery/cast, etc and expect a few months of recovery. Generally, if you have feeling in your toes, chances of nerve damage are small. If you dropped a heavy object, it's a different story. A bit of icing, keeping it elevated, keeping pressure off it, and in a few days it will be fine. But if you got a fever, or it keeps hurting, see a doctor! The worst thing you can do is not treat it if it needs treatment, because as my mother found out, the foot will heal itself in a non-optimal way. So what? Well, considering you got some dozzen bones, a few dozzen muscles, etc. if they end up healed in a weird position, then you can't quite walk right.
