We have to look at the life of Jesus, how was he treated when he was being put to death. The people that had witnessed the miracles Jesus performed on earth were the ones putting him to death. On this earth, the people mistreating you are not follower of Christ, even if they call themselves Christians. Christ used his wisdom to out wit the Pharisees, but he did in a way not to humiliate them. We can look at people like this with pity, because they have not found Christ. If by the way you react to this treatment, you act as Christ would have, with his help you might lead them to Christ. I try to be humble, but that fight will come out if I don't have help. I hope this helps some, but the best way is to take it to the Lord.

All I know was that Jesus was humble and that is is not our place to judge you! Being humble does not necessarily mean you must put up with people mistreating you! You sound very spiritual, you can distance yourself from the people who are hurting you and pray for them to learn how to be loving people.
Take care of yourself!

The idea that you are being mistreated does not exist outside of the mind that thinks it.

I still consider myself to be humble and meek but you have know where to draw the line. Unfortunately, we live in a society where meekness is often considered to be weakness!! you don't have to be aggressive and old witch, but don't allow yourself to be a doormat.

I used to be so "soft" and people used to take advantage of me so much and in the end I ended up being so bitter and resentful. Try not to fall into that trap.

Humble just means you know your place on earth.... not better than anyone else, and knowing you are not God. It does not mean that others are better than you are and are allowed to walk all over you.

True humility has the strength to treat others with kindness and have confidence without arrogance. Confidence stands up and deals with things.

Best Wishes,

Sue
