I am looking for wooden/bamboo skewers to make kebabs and can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where In South London I can get them without buying them online?

Hi Bukicole, if you can't find them in any supermarket go to Robert Dyas the Ironmongers as you will defiantly find some there.

Sainsbury's sell them. I bought some in Streatham Sainsbury's a few months ago. They were in the aisle with the tea towels, glasses and cartons of juice. After the eggs I think!

They are stocks left over from summer that they have to get rid of to recoup value added profit. Its either sell them or bin them as most are not supplied on a sale or return basis.

You may be able to buy them from Asda, they do tend to sell most things, all year round

If you have Dollar Stores there, you should be able to find them. Or try a specialty kitchen store if you have to go upscale.

Why don't you make your own out of stainless steel welding rods[tig]. That's what we do for bbq's at work.
