The ones I know feel very strongly that all of the problems in the world are created by religion. (It's all religion not just Christianity they dislike)
On the surface they are correct. Most of the fighting is religious related.
Also it is very hard for some people almost all people to see large scale suffering such as poverty and aids in Africa. Some people wonder, if there truly is a God why would they allow such suffering?
The reason they are mean masks there anger, fear and hopelessness. Or they are just plan old meanies!
Other reasons could lie in the fundamentalist who reject scientific fact? Most reasonable people can believe that God created the universe and our curious nature to explore it and understand it on a tangible level. It is possible to be religious and scientific!

As long as Christianity, as well as several of the other "ultimate truths", have as their end and gleefully sought after goal, the END OF THE WORLD, and as long as they believe that their rights are being violated if they are denied the opportunity to use the coercive power of the state to shove their god down every ones throat, you will have to put up with us being in your face. Why should we abandon a forum where we can let you know that you will not be allowed to carry out the silly "End Times" rubbish that you seem to forget would include the rest of us.

Well first honest criticism isn't "being mean" it is disagreeing. Second, why do Christians have to knock on my door and bother me with something so ridiculous? They interrupted my Thanksgiving Dinner and you call someone who criticizes you in an open forum "mean." I guess I got to run the off with a gun the next time. That seems to discourage them and I live in Texas which makes it perfectly legal since it is my property.
I feel perfectly fine saying just about anything I really believe.

Why do atheist are so mean to you christian?
Wanna try asking that again in proper english?
Anyway, you worship a religion that states that anyone who doesn't believe as you do is going to be punished in hell forever. And you people are constantly pushing that belief down everyone's throat (unasked for). Gee, I wonder why atheists don't like you.

Atheists and agnostics have no problems with Christians practicing their beliefs. We do have a problem with Christians trying to legislate their beliefs. For example, I get upset when a fringe group of Christian Extremists who try to stop public schools from teaching established science and instead try to force creationism down our throats.

First of all, I'm pagan, and while I do believe in the Christian God, I give him no power over my life. And I have been told time and time again that I'm a Satan worshiper and I'm going to burn in a hell that believe exists only for those who are unpure of heart. I do not agree with many people who cry martyr for their beliefs when they do not even walk the talk.
And PLEASE, for the sake of all man's sanity people, take the time to spell your words out and make your sentences sensible.

Actually it's the other way around:

Blue laws, opposition to HIV vaccine distribution by Dr. Finger (evangelical on the CDC's ethical advisory committee), your obsession with forcing our kids to pray in schools, your constant condescending.
You are not the persecuted ones, my friend.

Antitheists are the mean ones, atheists don't care and agnostics don't have enough information.
Antitheists are sometimes incorrectly refered to as atheists, agnostics, and even theists.
