Is anyone out there still using Lotus 1-2-3 and how difficult is it to convert to Excel?

I have exchanged Lotus 1-2-3 files with colleagues. They tell me that they can open the file with Excel and read it on the screen, but when they print it there are large black letters obscuring most of the spreadsheet, rendering it useless!

Wow. Haven't seen Lotus for years. However, try opening your Lotus file and check out the "File, Save AS" options. See if you can save as ASCII, CSV, txt.

Then, open a new Excel document and click File, Open or File, Import.

Because the ASCII, CSV, or txt files are not Excel files, you will have to indicate that the file is delimited and how it is delimited.

ASCII delimited fields by enclosing each field in quotes and separating them with a comma.

CSV simply separates them by comma.

The data will read in. When all the data are in the Excel file, immediately name and save it, and be sure the filetype (on the bottom) indicates Excel worksheet.
