The only safe sex is no sex... that is the message we give our kids at the Junior High school and it is true for everyone! My friend thought that she was safe and they were madly in love...turned out the guy was no good and she ended up with genital herpes... real nice, huh!?!

well the safes thing you can do is don't have sex at all, but of course this Is not even an option, then there is always masturbation. If you are having sex with another person make sure they wear protection and get to know then before you have sex, you have to know where they have been remember some STD's last for a life time so make sure they are clean before you have sex, good way to do this is by going to a clinic and getting tested. I know that in the end your going to do what you want any way just remember that some STD's have no cure.

condoms for stds and birth control pills to prevent pregnancy.

There are condoms for males and females

if condoms aren't you ideal option there are spermacides and gels that act as lube and kill the sperm, however I would still go on birth control pills as a back up, I'm on alesse and not pregnant yet so I believe they work but everyone is different.

there is also the needle that you get every 3 months from your doctor and the patch, altho the patch was on call back I'm not sure if it still is, but I wouldn't try that as a lot of woman got pregnant on it.

there's a new vagina ring that came out that is suppose to be really good, though it's only new so I think I'd wait to see how it goes before taking it.

I think that birth control pills are the best bet as condoms do break, but make sure to take the pills at the same time everyday and use a back up method for the first 7 days that you are taking it as it takes that long to start working. But some doctors suggest using extra caution for the first pack.

I hope this helps!
