The black is dirt, it clogs up the pore, then it gets infected resulting into a pimple.

People are pathetic. Don't answer questions that you don't know the answer to! A blackhead is NOT DIRT! It's trapped dead skin cells, oil, and bacteria in an open wound that with our skin pigment turns black. God people these days! Try a cleanser with salicilic acid like St. Ive's medicated scrub will get rid of them in a few weeks (do it 2 a week)

There is a lot of white puss underneath that black head. Disgusting! That just usually means that you let the pimple go and didn't wash well.

pimples are inflammed sebacous glands due to the accumulation of oils, dead cells and bacteria. this accumulations produces a precipitate substance usually with exudate as seen in acne bulgaris. this precipitates comes in different colors i.e. black - black heads; white -white heads

Good question!! Could be a black hair infected. They are also called "black heads". Could be body oil build up in the pore.

These are called blackheads. Dirt on pores that cause infection. Bit of proxcide usually fixes them so they can heal.
