Amitabha / Pure Land Buddhism?

Is there anyone that practices this type of Buddhism? What are your thoughts on it?

Pure land is one sect of Mahayana Buddhism,which grew out of the Buddha's teaching that each individual carries within himself the potential for Buddhahood.
Mahayanists,believe that they can seek salvation through the intervention of other superior beings.Pure land buddhist believe that by praying to amitabha they will go to the pure land (sukhavati) where they will stay and gain enlightenment.
