Your in the US Military or Coast Guard, and you and your wife want to move to Amsterdam. Is there any way you could join the Netherlands Army or Coast Guard, or remain in the US Millitary/Coast Guard?

Your best bet would be to talk to your recruiter directly. If you are currently in the military (I BELEIVE) you can request a European posting. Any posting Amesterdam/European/etc would be according to the needs of your home service. Which means it is a toss up if they would give you your desired posting. If the Netherlands Army/Coast Guard is similar to the United States, you may be able to join with a valid visa

I've heard if you're in the Army Reserve, you can do your drills with units in Europe. Of course this is only if the unit needs your MOS. Also I don't know if there is a unit stationed in the Netherlands so I think you'd have to drill in Germany. The other option is embassy duty for active army or marines and I think every embassy has marines and/or soldiers there to protect classified materials. Of course the proportion of people who get embassy duty is very small.
