I'm a christian and I don't celebrate christmas anymore. The world celebrates christmas because it is a man made tradition that we we all were programed into celebrating since birth but God never instructed any of us to celebrate any of the holidays that we were growing up celebrating, thinking they were christian. God knew the pagans had their little festivals and holidays, but God has His appointed days and times and told us in His Old Testament to keep His days Holy. The Old Testament is the Foundation for all of the Word Of God including the new testament and will not ever cease. Shouldn't we follow what the Word says and not do things just because they appear christian and because everyone else is doing it?

I celebrate Christmas for the birth of Christ, even though they say he wasn't born on Dec. 25, its still a celebration where the family gets together and where there is peace in our hearts and forgiveness.

Me personally, I try to focus on the birth of Christ and how this birth affects a large group of people. It is easy to get caught up in the shopping. I still somewhat buy into the commercialism, but not too much. I am by no means overly devout but the materialism can be a bit nauseating.
I love getting together with family and friends. It is also a great time to re-connect with the Spirit and Spirituality of Christianity.

I celebrate Christmas because I want to commemorate the first advent of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. While I look backwards to the Lord's first advent, I also look with anticipation to His second advent...the Second Coming!
