I'm a dentist.

The answer to your question is that it depends. How much does it move? Is it barely noticeable, or does it sway a millimeter or more in each direction?

Our teeth are not anchored directly into our bone. They have a ligament supporting them called the "periodontal ligament", which serves two purposes: it acts as a cushion for the teeth and bone, and it also contains sensory nerves that sense the amount of pressure being applied to your teeth (which is why your brain almost instinctively knows to bite hard when eating beef jerky and bite softly when eating marshmallows). This periodontal ligament, when healthy, allows our teeth to move just slightly. You really have to look close to see it.

If your teeth are moving significantly, then something is wrong. You need to see your doctor.

Talk to your dentist if it doesn't tighten up. Sometimes a tooth might loosen slightly, I've had this happen many times over the years...but it's only a very very slight movement and it tightens up again later on.

get to a dentist immediately you might have a gum disease that causes teeth to fall out. you need an emergency appointment. do not eat anything solid and rinse with salty warm water every 1/2 hr.

You really should see a doctor. Don't be wiggling it, don't eat on it and it may tighten back up. Your gums may be receding from the tooth.

See a dentist. Good luck. Pops

They are suppose to move just a little but if they move a lot then it might be a problem. the joint your tooth is in is called a gomphosis joint and it is a fibrous joint and they will move slightly.
