The Grameen Foundation, and its affiliated entities. It was started by Muhhamad Yunus, winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize for economics.

He's a Bangladeshi economist that started a micro-lending program in Bangaldesh that has been very successful, concentrating on very small loans to potential budding entrepreneurs in the very lowest rung of their society.

Working against all government and business obstacles, he started by loan in $27.00 total to a group of women (mostly) wanting to start their own individual small home-based businesses (in the late 1970's).

A complete review of his work takes longer than can be included in an email. He wrote a book in 1999 called "Banker to the Poor" that is very informative.

The bottom line is that his programs have spread all over the globe, to dozens of countries, empowering many thousands of individuals and families to escape crushing poverty

I think my mission would be to focus on the abused and neglected children. Everyone is so worried about other countries, which I think is great, BUT we have alot of problems in our own backyard that are just getting swept under the rug. We are supposedly the richest country in the world, yet we have homeless people we care less about, we have neglected/abused children that people turn a blind eye to....when most often, it would only take a little kindness and compassion, empathy and an opportunity to change their lives. And most of the time, this can be done without money...usually just a little love in your heart will make the difference.

I do as much as I can, I've taken people into my home, children that have no place to go and given care packages to those that are too proud to ask, and too far down in depression to admit they need help. Most often it's the little things that make the big difference.

I asked a question like this a few days ago and I was rather shocked at how few actually think of those less fortunate. Even at this time of year.

I would help children who don't have a lot for Christmas. At one time I was a single parent and a Church stepped in to help me at Christmas and if it were not for them, my Children would not have had a Christmas that year. Every year I now try to return the favor by donating toys to the local fire department and a local Church.

I would someday like to donate to St. Jude's Hospital. They help Children no matter what their financial situation may be.

I want to buy a farm to give homeless people a forever place to stay. Some will get on their feet and move on, but many will not. They all need a place to receive emotional and financial support.

Rescue Atlanta.... a ministry that feeds hundreds of homeless people as well as offering provisions for laundry needs, showers, church services and counseling.

My son. I am having a difficult time protecting him from his mentally abusive father. I have contacted children and youth and was informed me in order to prove mental abuse their shrink has to analyze him. In order for the shrink to even consider talking to him I have to prove that he is being mentally abused. So, if I had the power and money I would help my son.
