My friend told me that windows XP actually has "speech recognition" built in to it....(unfortunately he told me this after I had already bought another product (Dragon Naturally Speaking...which by the way is very very cool!) this question peaked my curiosity so I searched on a search engine about it and it "seems" like it does have that capability...this is a paragraph from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/306901/

"This article describes how to use speech recognition in Windows XP. If you installed speech recognition with Microsoft Office XP, or if you purchased a new computer that has Office XP installed, you can use speech recognition in all Office programs as well as other programs for which it is enabled, such as Microsoft Internet Explorer."....it goes on...

if you have Windows XP I think you may already have this feature available to you...this is another website which they listed...

It IS very cool to talk and have the computer type for you!
