One should do a disk cleanup everyday and defrag two or three times a week if the computer is used moderately. Try this.
You may need to do a Disk Cleanup..and be sure you have all the boxes checked....
Defrafg your C drive or what ever is your
main harddrive... Make sure you have selected the C Drive.... This is called a Disk Defragmenter...
Go to : Start...
programs..
accessories...
system tools..
Do this often...

When I installed an update for my internet it ran extremely slow cuz of this the tech support told me to go on to start click acessories go to system tools and go to system restore. This fixed the problem but erased everything to the date I set it at. If you don't want to do this they also told me to turn off all fire wall spam ware. To clear history, cookies, and temporary internet.

Go to Search on your computer, and type in Disk Defragment, then click on it and start the defrag.
also, try deleting cookies and useless files.
