Okay, people, cavities work like this.....
When the cavity is small, no, you can't feel it. Not w/ your tongue or finger and it's generally not sensitive to sweets, hot or cold.
When you start feeling sensitivity to those things, you're on your way to having to have the tooth root canalled. And possibly crowned.
When the tooth starts keeping you up at night and/or breaking into pieces, it's generally time to have it extracted.
Of course, there are circumstances that make things not so cut and dry, but this is the basic jist of it.
Hope this helps!!

Sometimes you will feel it when you inhale cool/cold air through your mouth or when you eat/drink a cold or very hot food.A quick trip to the dentist will confirm or deny whether or not you have one and if you do the dentist can fix it and possibly save the tooth.

Maybe not if it's minor, but trust me, if a tooth is sensitive to temperature, particularly cold water, and sugary stuff you will know! That will usually give you a good painful zap.

Go to your dentist. Sometimes you get a bad toothache or your tooth really is sensitive.
