Basically decide whether to print or not to print at home. I'd recommend a CD writer and just take the CD to an outside printer.
Or even cheaper yet, - just get a thumb drive (USB flash disk) and outside printing folks can take that.

For most digital cameras, you will want to upload the pictures to a computer first. To do this, you will need a cable will a USB connection on one end and an AV connection that matches your camera make on the other. You may want to ask the retail from whom you purchased the camera about the specific cable needed for your camera. Also, a high-quality photo-printer is what you will need for her to be able to print the pictures with optimal results. Oh, and photo paper would be helpful too- you can get that pretty much anywhere. Hope this helps; it's hard to say without knowing the specific make/model of your camera.

They make small printers that hook directly up to some cameras but yes a photo printer would be good as well as maybe a memory card for the camera 64MB or more, rechargeable batteries if the camera does not come with them. Oh photo paper would be handy too.
A scanner is for like making a copy or creating a digital image of some papers or something like that.

No, you need a photo printer! DONT buy a multifunction machine! The problems with them is the fact that if one part breaks down, you will have wasted money on the other 2 functions! You might also consider looking for a printer with multiple cartridges! Buy a 4 cartridge printer. If you choose to go with a single cartridge printer, you will be throwing ink out that is still in the cartridge! I.E. if your red runs out, you will be throwing away the other colors! Ink is expensive! If she wants a scanner later, buy her a seperate flat bed scanner. I have been thru too many printers and I find that HP makes the best!

You don't need a scanner. Make sure the camera comes with a cable to attach it to a computer. One end will be USB, the other will have a teeney tiny connector for the camera.
Cameras typically come with minimum size memory cards. You might want to buy her a bigger one that will hold more pictures.
If you have a fancy printer, it may have slots for memory cards. Look and see. If you have a cable, you don't need a slot for the memory card, but it's a convenience.

You need to buy a printer. If your digital camera is Kodak, they have a device to Easy print the photo.
you can buy special oily papers which are used for printing photos just like the normal photos which we take with our normal cameras.
There are even devices which you just connect your digital camera USB port (the port which you can connect the camera to the coputer) to them directly and you can print your photos as easy as that. :)

As stated by many other people above, you can buy a photo printer and print them from your computer. However, good photo printers are expensive, the ink is expensive and the paper as well. My personal experience with photo printers is horrible. My suggestion for getting prints is to put them on a cd and you can bring them into many places likes Kinkos, Costco, and other photo places and stuff. They print them there for a good price and eaisly.

the camera should have came with a usb cord... if not you should get one... but most cameras come with everything you need where you can just plug it in and it uploads the pictures and you can print them from the computer printer.
