I was stopped and realized that my insurance is out of date and I havnt renewed it yet. I got ticket for that. So what is the penalty in this state of New Jersey.

can I do anything to make it better?

You have to renew it, then take the proof with you to your court date. Usually the ADA will throw the case b/c you proved that you made amends to correct it. No fees!

Penalty in New Jersey for having a registered-uninsured vehicle is license suspension.

Buy insurance and pray to god you didn't hurt anyone without it this time... as for the ticket just pay it and be happy you didn't really need it in this case. Lesson well learned I"d say !
